Emergent Vision Technologies Launches Eros, the World’s Smallest and Lowest-Power 10GigE Cameras
Emergent Vision Technologies is excited to announce the launch of Eros, the world's smallest and lowest-power 10GigE camera series. Developed as a 10GigE solution, the Eros cameras feature a compact 29 x 29 mm design and offer both BaseT/RJ45 Power over Ethernet (PoE) and SFP+ fiber interface options. They operate at power levels as low as 3W on SFP+ single-mode fiber, ensuring efficient performance in space-constrained environments.
Despite their small size, Eros cameras deliver full-featured capabilities comparable to our HR 10GigE series. For applications requiring lower speeds, the Eros BaseT/RJ45 models can auto-negotiate to 5GigE, 2.5GigE, or 1GigE, all while supporting zero-copy imaging and GPUDirect technologies. This flexibility makes them a cost-effective choice for diverse imaging needs.
Eros cameras will incorporate a range of Sony sensors, including the Gen4 Pregius S series, with resolutions from 0.5 MP to 24.47 MP and frame rates up to 1586 fps. Additionally, models featuring Sony’s SenSWIR CMOS sensors will be available, capturing images in the SWIR range (400 to 1700 nm). These SWIR models are ideal for applications such as food and beverage inspection, agricultural imaging, and semiconductor inspection.
The Eros series also includes polarized sensor models based on the 5 MP Sony IMX250MZR (mono) and IMX250MYR (color), as well as a UV model featuring the 8.1 MP Sony IMX487 sensor. All Eros cameras benefit from Emergent’s zero-copy imaging technology, which is crucial for high-performance, multi-camera applications.
